Rigor, with receipts.

Who This Is For

ProvenanceAI is built for the educators, administrators, and students who see AI as an opportunity—not a threat.

First, Who This Is NOT For

Our Stance on the Current Landscape

AI is the most disruptive technology we’ve seen, potentially in our lifetimes. There are many, many unique responses to it, especially in the education space, and many of those are worth listening to.

But, right now, we are prioritizing a proactive rebuild of the learning process, itself. We will have time enough to reflect when the learning is stronger than ever.

We do plan to build out a Consulting arm (Critias) for higher ed administrators to support faculty change management and empower faculty entrepreneurship and innovation, but our attention right now is focused on three core audiences.

Three Customer Archetypes

1. Higher Ed Administrators

Provosts, VPs of Innovation, CTL Directors, Digital Learning Officers

Pain Points:

  • Employers already didn't trust our evaluation of students
  • Now, we're failing to adequately train students in AI
  • Credibility is at stake
  • Workforce readiness concerns are intensifying
  • Retention and outcome metrics under pressure

Jobs-to-be-Done:

  • Institutional AI adoption with defensible metrics
  • Restore trust with external stakeholders (employers, accreditors, parents)
  • Build privacy-first, FERPA-compliant solutions
  • Create integration pathways with existing LMS infrastructure

Why ProvenanceAI:

We're not trying to become "the LMS." We're building the missing system schools need in the AI era: process visibility and growth measurement.

2. Instructors Integrating AI Now

Tenured and TT-Professors, Teaching Faculty, Adjunct, Contingent

Pain Points:

  • The friction of original innovation: iterating with AI is technically and pedagogically difficult
  • Lack of a "sandbox" for safe, evidence-led experimentation
  • Invisible labor: manually tracking student process is unsustainable
  • Uncertainty about how to validly assess AI-augmented workflows

Jobs-to-be-Done:

  • Prove learning outcomes when output can be AI-generated
  • Make papers worth grading again
  • Inspire learning and excellence (not just compliance)
  • Reduce grading time while increasing rigor
  • Provide fair, transparent assessment criteria

Why ProvenanceAI:

We're building a new kind of sandbox. The ProvenanceAI Path allows instructors to focus on the difficulty of innovating and iterating, rather than policing output.

3. Students & Parents

Undergraduate students, graduate students, parents paying tuition

Pain Points:

  • Confusion on expectations ("Can I use AI? How much?")
  • Over-reliance on AI without understanding implications
  • Skill erosion anxiety (parents worry students aren't learning)
  • Lack of clarity on what "doing the work" means
  • Fear of being accused of cheating when using AI ethically

Jobs-to-be-Done:

  • Show how they used AI well—not hide that they used it
  • Build genuine skills that matter post-graduation
  • Get clear feedback on growth, not just grades
  • Develop sustainable, healthy AI work habits
  • Demonstrate value to future employers

Why ProvenanceAI:

In a future of generative content, it's not about proving you didn't use AI. It's about showing how you used it well.

Students see exactly what counts: reflection, revision, and real improvement.

Why Now?

The urgency is existential.

Getting AI out in the open and integrated with learning is the ONLY guaranteed way to prevent cheating—or better said, it's a guaranteed way to ensure learning.

The only thing AI detection software is good for is promoting shame and secrecy. ProvenanceAI does the opposite: it makes AI collaboration visible, coachable, and fair.

Revenue Priorities & Expansion

While our immediate focus is building institutional pilots, partnerships, and licensing, we are also exploring diversified revenue streams to capture the broader learning market.

Expert-Led Learning Marketplace

We are exploring a public-facing platform (similar to Kajabi or Coursera) where Independent Experts can teach courses to the public, powered by ProvenanceAI's process-visibility tools.

Free

Open access courses for brand awareness and community building.

Paid

Direct-to-consumer courses with premium certificates and depth.

Institutional

Customized deployments for universities and corporate partners.

Strategic Synergy: We're most interested in the Institutional model, but see these three types as a cohesive funnel for high-trust learning.

Market Fit

These three stakeholders share one crisis: the collapse of trust in traditional assessment. ProvenanceAI is rebuilding that trust.

ProvenanceAI provides the solution: make the invisible human work of learning visible—especially when AI is in the loop.
