1. Who We Are

The ProvenanceAI Tracking System Chrome Extension ("the Extension") is developed and maintained by ProvenanceAI, a product of Exact Rush Multimedia Publishing. The Extension is designed to help learners capture and reflect on their AI-assisted thinking across supported platforms, and to sync those captures to a personal ProvenanceAI account for growth measurement over time.

2. What the Extension Does

The Extension has a single purpose: it captures prompt-and-response pairs from supported AI platforms and syncs them to your ProvenanceAI account so you can measure the quality and growth of your AI-assisted thinking over time. No other data collection occurs.

Supported platforms include: ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Perplexity, Microsoft Copilot, Meta AI, DeepSeek, NotebookLM, and Kimi.

3. Data We Collect

The Extension collects only the following, and only when you are signed in to a ProvenanceAI account:

• Conversation pairs: the text of your prompts and the AI responses on supported platforms. These are captured after a response completes, not mid-stream.
• Platform metadata: the name of the AI platform (e.g., "Claude") and the approximate timestamp of the capture.
• Session credentials: a session token stored locally in browser storage so you remain logged in across sessions. No passwords are stored.

4. Data We Do Not Collect

• We do not collect your browsing history or activity on any site not listed as a supported AI platform.
• We do not collect personal communications, emails, or messages outside of AI conversation pairs.
• We do not collect financial or payment information.
• We do not collect health, location, or device sensor data.
• We do not track keystrokes, mouse movements, or clicks on any page.
• We do not collect data from tabs where you are not actively using a supported AI platform.

5. How Data Is Stored

Captured conversation pairs are transmitted over HTTPS and stored in your personal ProvenanceAI account database. The database is hosted on Supabase (PostgreSQL) with row-level security enforced: only you and authorized instructors or administrators you have granted access to can view your data.

Session credentials are stored in Chrome's local extension storage (chrome.storage.local) on your device and are not transmitted to any third party.

6. How We Use Your Data

Your data is used exclusively to:

• Display your captured conversations in your ProvenanceAI account dashboard.
• Calculate engagement quality metrics (Human Distance, LLM Leverage Distance, Well-Being) over your conversation history.
• Enable instructors or learning cohort administrators to view aggregated or individual metrics, where you have been enrolled in a shared group.

Your data is never used for advertising, sold to third parties, or shared with anyone outside your ProvenanceAI account context.

The Extension communicates only with provenanceai.app (the developer's own domain). No data is sent to any other third-party service from within the Extension itself. ProvenanceAI's platform uses Supabase for database hosting and Resend for transactional email. Both operate under their respective privacy policies.

9. Your Rights

You may request deletion of your captured conversation data at any time by contacting support@provenanceai.app. You may also uninstall the Extension at any time; uninstalling stops all future capture but does not delete previously synced data from your account. Contact us to request account deletion.

10. Changes to This Policy

If we make material changes to this policy, we will update the "Last updated" date above and, where possible, notify users through the Extension popup or via the email associated with their ProvenanceAI account. Continued use of the Extension after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
