Course Promise

By the end of this course, you will:

The difference between shortcutting and mastering a subject is how well you know how to use these tools.

What You'll Build

Your AI Teaching Assistant (TA)

You'll create your own TA—a Markdown file (e.g. my_ai_ta.md) that grows every module. It won't do your work for you; it will help you think through complex problems at college level with clear boundaries (“Never List”) and subject-specific modes.

Subject Modularity System: one core identity, multiple “hats”—Lit, STEM, Research, Career—so your TA stays consistent while matching disciplinary expectations.

Core identity (always present):
→ Your Never List, your voice, your learning goals

Subject hats (modular overlays):
→ Lit Mode · STEM Mode · Research Mode · Career Mode

How It Works

Each Module Follows This Pattern

  1. The Hook — A college-relevant scenario (3–5 min)
  2. The Concept — What you need to know (10–15 min)
  3. Socratic Lab — Practice with prompts (15–20 min)
  4. Build Checkpoint — Add to your TA file (10–15 min)
  5. Reflection — Process what you learned (5–10 min)
  6. Knowledge Check — Prove you got it (5–10 min)

Your TA file grows like this

Module 1: Core identity + Never List
Module 2: Socratic toolkit + subject framing prompts
Module 3: AI systems explanation (for skeptical profs)
Module 4: Bias checks + policy navigation scripts
Module 5: Subject modularity system (the "hat changer")
Module 6: Complete integration + advanced usage patterns

Questions?

Frequently asked

Will this teach me to code?
No. This is about using AI tools across disciplines, not building them. CS majors still benefit from TA design and integrity framing.
Is using AI for college assignments cheating?
Sometimes yes, sometimes no. The course gives you frameworks to decide—case by case, course by course, policy by policy.
What if my school has no AI policy?
You'll learn to operate ethically in gray zones—and to document your process when it matters.
